Prime Minister Narendra Modi will host Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and wife Sara — in his home state Gujarat today.

Both the Prime Ministers will start off the day by paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi at the Sabarmati Ashram.

Modi and Netanyahu developed cordial connect after Modi's visit to Israel in July last year - first ever by an Indian Prime Minister.

The Israeli PM will be the third international leader to be hosted in Ahmedabad in a span of over three years ever since Modi became PM in May 2014.

Modi hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping on his birthday on September 17, 2014, followed by Japanese Premier Shinzo Abe on September 13 last year.

On the itinerary of the Israeli PM is a visit to Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad, where he would reach after conducting a roadshow with his Indian counterpart Prime Minister Modi.

Security deployments are all in place ahead of the roadshow.

Prime Minister Modi and Netanyahu will inaugurate the iCreate Center at Deo Dholera Village in Ahmedabad.

They will visit a Startup Exhibition and interact with innovators and Startup CEOs.

The two Prime Ministers will dedicate a mobile water desalination van to Suigam Taluka, of Sabarkantha district, through a video link. Both leaders will also address the gathering.

Later in the day, the duo will visit a centre of excellence (CoE) for vegetables in Vadrad near Prantij in Sabarkantha district, set up under the Indo-Israel Agriculture Work Plan for exchange of advanced farming technology.

They will inaugurate the Centre of Excellence for Date Palms at Kukama, Kutch District, through a video link. The two Prime Ministers will also interact with farmers.

Prime Minister Netanyahu will later depart for Mumbai.
