PM Modi meets Japan's Abe in his first bilateral summit on G20 sidelines

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday met his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe ahead of the G20 summit in Osaka, Japan. In his first bilateral meeting on the sidelines of G20 summit, Modi reportedly discussed infrastructure projects and bullet trains.
''Discussed broad range of topics of mutual interest. PM said that he was looking forward to visit of PM Abe to India later this year for the Annual Summit,'' tweeted Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson.

PM Modi will also be meeting Thailand Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, South Korea President Moon Jae-in, German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the first day of the two-day G20 summit, the sixth he is participating since he became prime minister in 2014.
