Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir(J&K) have directed telecom companies to suspend mobile Internet service across the Kashmir Valley after the Shopian attack on Sunday in which one militant was killed.

On Sunday, a militant and "three accomplices" were killed after security forces opened fire after terrorists attacked a mobile vehicle checkpost near Pohan area.

The Army said that three people killed were "accomplices" in the car, who were accompanying the terrorists.

The security forces immediately began a search and cordon operation, as a result early today the government decided to suspend mobile Internet in the valley in order to deter further attacks.
