Marshal of Air Force Arjan Singh given state funeral, fly-past held in his honour
The last rites of Marshal of the Air Force Arjan Singh were performed Monday morning at Delhi's Brar Square.
Sindh died Saturday at the Army Research and Referral Hospital in Delhi on Saturday evening.
He had suffered a cardiac arrest earlier in the day.
Arjan Singh was given a state funeral, and a gun salute.
And a fly-past was held in his honour.
All three chiefs of the armed services attended the funeral.
As did defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and a host of political leaders including former prime minister Manmohan Singh and former deputy prime minister LK Advani.

Singh was famous for the role he played in the 1965 India-Pakistan war.
He had led the Air Force then, and had not let Pakistan gain the upper hand despite it being better equipped with American planes and firepower.

Singh was the Air Force's only five-star rank officer.
India's only other two five-star rank officers have been Field Marshals Sam Maneckshaw and KM Cariappa.
