'Mann Ki Baat': PM Modi extends New Year wishes, welcomes 21st Century voters
In 2017's last edition of monthly radio programme "Mann Ki Baat", Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed those born in the 21st century to the democratic system, stating that they will become eligible voters from January 1, 2018.

PM Modi said the 'New India youth' voters will have the power to transform the nation and make it free from dirt and poverty.
"New India will be free from poison of casteism, communalism, terrorism and corruption; free from dirt & poverty," Modi said.
The prime minister also suggested having mock Parliaments in every district, where discussion can held on how to make development a mass movement to transform the country.

He further asked the New India Youth to take the lead.
"New voters are filled with energy and enthusiasm. With their skills and strength, they will take India to new heights of glory."
PM Modi also remembered the teachings of Jesus Christ and said Christ always laid much emphasis on the spirit of service, "sewa bhaav".
