Rajasthan home minister Gulab Chand Kataria said Wednesday that a person accused of killing someone should be called an "accused" and not a "gau rakshak".

"If someone kills anyone, he must not be branded as gau rakshak but as accused," ANI reported him as saying.

"The investigation is on (in Alwar lynching case) and two people have been arrested," he added.

Kataria was speaking to the media in Jaipur.

Kataria was referring to the killing last week of a Muslim man by suspected gau rakshaks.

Three Muslim men were beaten up and one of them shot dead by suspected cow vigilantes in Rajasthan`s Alwar district, while they were transporting cows from Haryana`s Mewat district to Bharatpur in Rajasthan.

This was the second such killing in Alwar in the past seven months.

In April, 55-year-old dairy farmer Pehlu Khan was beaten to death by suspected cow vigilantes.
