Rajasthan: Man sets wives on fire for not keeping his mother happy

A Rajasthan man reportedly set his two wives on fire for not keeping his mother happy, news reports said Wednesday. 

Deepa Ram, from Rajasthan, told his two wives -- Daria Devi (25) and Mali Devi (27) -- he was buying them jewellery and got them to get into his car.  

On the way, he quarrelled with them. 

One of the wives got out of the car but he pushed her back in, and drove on. 

“In the moving car, he quarrelled with them. As the car lost balance, he stopped,” PTI reported Additional SP Jalore Binja Ram said.

Deepa Ram then got out of the car, locked it and set it on fire.

Both wives were charred to death, reports said. 

Police reported Deepa Ram as saying he had been unhappy with his wives for not keeping his mother happy.

Police added that Ram, who is the father of three children, later confessed to the crime and was arrested.
