The incident occurred two days after a stampede at the Elphinstone Railway station in Mumbai claimed lives of 23, leaving more than 30 injured.

After the Friday incident, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal called a meeting and asked the railway officials to ensure safety. ” Passenger safety will be the topmost priority,” said Goel in the meeting held at Mumbai.
