Tamil Nadu forest fire: At least 27 rescued and 9 confirmed dead, rescue operation underway
According to fresh reports, at least 27 people have been rescued out of over 60 trekkers trapped in the forest-fire at Kurangani, Tamil Nadu. Search operations are underway with IAF choppers deployed along with 16 commandos of Garud Commando Force.

So far, nine people have been confirmed dead in the fire. The deceased include four women, four men and a child.
Out of 27 people who have been rescued, 10 sustained minor injuries, while 8 of them are severely injured.

A sudden forest fire broke out in the Kurangani hills in Tamil Nadu's Theni district last afternoon.
