The US and North Korea share a turbulent relationship since Donald Trump became the president of the US. Despite several threats from Washington, Pyongyang refused to back down from nuclear weapons programme. Despite Washington's opposition, North Korea has conducted more than 20 missile launches since US President Donald Trump came to power in January last year.

On several occasions, North Korea has reacted strongly to Trump's pressure tactics and refused to bow to Trump's pressure tactics.

Last week, Kim in his annual New Year's Day address had warned Washington that his nuclear launch button was "always on my table".

In his response to North Korean leader's statement, Trump said that he to have a nuclear button - much bigger and more powerful.

''Leader Kim Jong Un just stated that the “Nuclear Button is on his desk at all times.” Will someone from his depleted and food starved regime please inform him that I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works,'' Trump tweeted.
