Karnataka: Siddaramaiah clarifies CM comment, Kumaraswamy responds

A day after former Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah expressed hope of becoming the CM of the state once again,  he clarified that he only meant that his party would come back to power in the next assembly elections.

"You can think whatever you want, but I said we will come to power in next election," PTI quoted him as saying.

In response, his successor HD Kumaraswamy said on Saturday that anybody can become chief minister in a democratic system. 

Kumaraswamy told media, "Anybody can become a Chief Minister in this democracy. It is a democratic system," ANI quoted. 

On Friday, while addressing the crowd in Hassan, Karnataka, Siddaramaiah said that with the blessing of the people of the state he would once again take over as chief minister. 

"I thought people will bless me once again and make me the chief minister. Unfortunately, I lost, but this is not the end. In politics wins and losses are common," he asserted.However, later

Earlier, Siddaramaiah's comments doubting the longevity of the JD(S)-Congress ministry and his differences over budget presentation had cast a shadow on the coalition.
