Siddaramaiah says development in Karnataka because of Narendra Modi, then says 'sorry sorry'

Karnataka chief minister and Congress leader Siddaramaiah on Tuesday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an election rally.

The praise was, however, a mere slip of tongue when the state chief minister got confused between his party candidate Narendra Swamy and PM Narendra Modi.

While addressing a rally Siddaramaiah said, "In all the villages, work on roads, drinking water, building houses, all this is possible because of Narendra Modi and us….”

On realising his mistake, the chief minister corrected himself and said, “Sorry sorry...Narendra Swamy….the important word is Narendra.”

The entire crowd including the party candidates accompanying Siddaramaiah on the dais broke into a laughter. 

A similar gaffe was committed by BJP party president Amit Shah in March who had inadvertently called his chief ministerial candidate BS Yeddyurappa as the most corrupt.

He had said, "Recently a retired Supreme Court judge said if there was ever a competition of the most corrupt government then the Yeddyurappa government is number one,"

Shah was making a slew of allegations against the Congress government led by chief minister Siddaramaiah.
