The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee has sent a letter to the Election Commission against Janardhan Reddy, former Minister of the state government over his comments on Siddaramaiah.

The letter filed by the Congress committee said that while campaigning for a BJP candidate Sriramulu, Reddy has said that the BJP had fielded the candidate to kill Siddharavana.

The complaint quoted Reddy as saying, "Sriramulu has been fielded by BJP to kill Siddharavana". Siddharavana which means " demon" reportedly referred to Siddaramaiah.

The former Union Minister had called the chief minister Siddaramaiah "Ravana" while comparing Sriramulu to "Rama".

Sriramulu is contesting against Siddaramaiah from Badami constituency.

In its complaint, the Congress has sought an action against Reddy.
