Kamala Mills fire case: Supreme Court dismisses Yug Tuli's special petition for bail

Supreme Court, on Tuesday, dismissed Yug Tuli's Special Leave Petition for bail. However, the apex court has granted Tuli the liberty to renew his request for bail after three months.

Yug Tuli, the co-owner of Mojo's Bistro restaurant, is accused in the December 2017 fire incident at Mumbai's Kamala Mills compound in which 14 people were killed.

Tuli was arrested in mid-January and had approached the high court after his bail plea was rejected by the sessions court.

In his plea, Tuli had claimed that the tragedy occurred due to the "mistake" of the staff at "1 Above", the other restaurant that was gutted in the blaze on the intervening night of December 28-29.

Those accused include the owners of the Kamala Mills compound, Mojo Bistro, 1 Above, along with two BMC officials.

A massive fire had swept through the two resto-pubs at the Kamala Mills compound in central Mumbai during the early hours of December 29.
