Post-mortem reveals no foul play in Justice Loya's death, say sources

The report into Justice BH Loya's death says there was no foul play in the judge's death, sources in the Maharashtra home ministry have told the Zee Group. 

The report has been handed over to the Supreme Court in a sealed envelope. 

The report broadly relies on four medical reports -- a histopathology report, an electrocardiography report, a medico-legal report, and a post-mortem report. 

The post-mortem report by the Nagpur Government Medical College says the cause of deaths was "coronary artery insufficiency" or coronary artery disease. 

The post-mortem report adds that no injuries were found on the body, that there was no fracture of the skull, and that no foreign bodies were detected inside the corpse. 

The report finally rules out foul play in Justice Loya's death.

A report by Meditrina Hospital, where Loya passed away, is included in the report. It says: “In spite of all resuscitative measures, the patient could not be revived."

An ECG report by Nagpur’s Dande Hospital, where Loya was first taken, is also included. It says: "Abnormal Spike in Electrocardiogram."
 
A report of the investigation by Nagpur Police is also included. The Nagpur Police report says none of their findings "suggests any suspicion over his death".

A report of the investigation carried out by the Sadar police station in Nagpur, which registered an accidental death report in the case, is also included.

The report also makes special mention of statements by the doctors who performed the tests and the post-mortem on Justice Loya, relatives who signed off on the post-mortem report, the ambulance owner, the ambulance driver, the police constable who accompanied Justice Loya's body to his village in Latur, and Justice Loya's family and friends. 
 
The sources in the Maharashtra home ministry said the state government is likely to share the report soon with the petitioners who have asked for a probe into the judge's death.

Foul play in the judge's death, after speaking to his family, was first alleged by a magazine.

Loya's family has since said that they no longer believe foul play was involved in his death.
