J&K: Security forces gun down two Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists near Srinagar

Two Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists have been killed in an encounter with security forces on the outskirts of Srinagar following the inputs about their presence in the area.

After receiving inputs about their presence, joint forces of the Indian army, Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched a joint cordon-and-search operation in Sutsu Kalan area of Chattergam in Budgam district. 

Five Indian army personnel were also injured in the operation, all of them have received splinter injuries from a grenade fired by a terrorist. 

They have been shifted to the army’s 92 base hospital for treatment.

Sources told WION that forces had inputs about the presence of three terrorists. A police official said that arms and ammunition have also been recovered from the spot.

Sources added that an advance rifle which was used to snipe out forces in the area was also recovered from the slain terrorists. 

The identity of the slain terrorists wasn’t immediately known.
