The Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh arrived in the valley to review the security situation of the state. The visit of General has come as Indian army has killed several terrorists from the beginning of this year, mostly in south Kashmir. 

The Indian army said that Ranbir Singh was briefed by the Chinar Corps Commander, Lt Gen AK Bhatt, on the major operational, informational, logistical and administrative aspects pertaining to the Corps and about the current situation including recent counter-terrorist operations. 

“The Army Commander lauded the exemplary synergy amongst all security forces and complimented the troops for their relentless efforts and selfless service in bringing peace and tranquillity in the Valley,” the army said in a statement.

Ahead of elections in Jammu and Kashmir, sources had told WION that 15 cops chief lieutenant general AK Bhatt, will be replaced and KVS Dhillon, who is believed to be an “old hand” will hold the charge.
