J&K: Man shot dead for breaching security at Farooq Abdullah's residence

A man was gunned down by the security personnel on trying to enter the residence of former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah.

"The intruder breached the main gate and went inside. He had a scuffle with the duty officers there. Duty officer was also injured. After that he entered the residence, there has been some sort of damage to the articles over there. Subsequently, he was shot dead," Vivek Gupta, SSP Jammu told ANI. 

The suspect has been identified as Murfas Shah who was a resident of Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch area.

"He forced his way through the VIP gate in an SUV. An investigation is underway," SD Singh Jamwal, IG, Jammu Zone told media.

"He didn’t listen to CRPF warnings. Section of 38 BN CRPF manning the gate opened fire on the vehicle. Man's body has been recovered and search of the vehicle is going on. One CRPF personnel received minor injuries," a CRPF official shared.

Meanwhile, the suspect's father has reacted to his son's death asking why was he killed. 

"He was with me last night. He goes to the gym daily and left for that today. I want to know why was he killed. Where were the security guards when he breached the gate? Why didn't they arrest him?" dead
