A migrant labourer has been shot dead by terrorists at Nihama village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district this afternoon.

Security forces have launched a search operation in the area. The victim has been identified as Sethi Kumar, a resident of Chattisgarh. 

As per sources, Kumar was shot in the head after which he was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. 

Kumar was working as a labourer at a brick kiln in Pulwama. More details awaited. 

This comes just a couple of days after two unknown terrorists including, one from Pakistan, on Monday, attacked and killed a truck driver in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. 

An apple orchard owner was also attacked and beaten up in Shirmal, according to sources.

J&K police sources said, "Two desperate terrorists targeted a Rajasthan registered truck and its driver Sharief Khan, who was shot dead by them."

"An orchard owner was beaten up at Shirmal. The truck was loaded with apples when the driver was attacked," added the sources.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday killed three Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists led by commander Nasir Chadru in an encounter.

"All 3 Hizbul terrorists led by commander Nasir Chadru are reported dead in an encounter in Anantnag," Jammu and Kashmir police said.

The encounter between the police team and terrorists broke out in the wee hours of Wednesday.
