Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference (NC) president Farooq Abdullah on Thursday tore into state Governor Satya Pal Malik after the latter dissolved the Assembly soon after Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti staked claim to form the government in the state with the support of National Conference (NC) and Congress.

''I had a lot of hopes from this Governor, but this is very sad. He has turned out to be another slave to the Centre,'' Abdullah said.

Hitting back at the BJP which called the alliance between PDP, Congress and NC a coming together of “terror-friendly parties, Abdullah said when PDP was in alliance with BJP then it was not 'terror-friendly?' It has become 'terror-friendly' when it talked of alliance with NC and Congress? Abdullah asked.

Governor Satya Pal Malik dissolved the assembly on Wednesday evening after Mehbooba Mufti staked claim to form the government along with her arch-rival Omar Abdullah's National Conference (NC) and the Congress. They claimed the support of 56 lawmakers in the 87-member state assembly.

Shortly after, People's Conference leader Sajad Lone also staked claims to form the government. Lone, who has two lawmakers, said he had the support of the BJP's 25 legislators and "more than 18" others.

Congress leader Saifuddin Soz on Wednesday urged Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti to move court. He described Governor's decision to dissolve the assembly ''unconstitutional''.
