Calling it a diplomatic victory for India, Singh said the image of the country had become such that for the first time it received an invitation from the OIC.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday commended India's invitation to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Calling it a diplomatic victory for India, Singh said the image of the country had become such that for the first time it received an invitation from the OIC.

"Entire world stands together against terrorism. No representative of India used to be invited to Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) but India's image has become such, that OIC invited India for the first time. It is a diplomatic victory, " he said.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj was invited as a Guest of Honour to attend a conclave of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Abu Dhabi.

At the meeting on Friday, Swaraj highlighted India's diversity and coexistence while calling on the world to speak in one voice on the issue of terrorism.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had officially announced his boycott from the OIC Foreign Ministers meet in Abu Dhabi over Indian presence. He had however added that a lower level official from the Pakistan government will be present in the meet.
