ISRO to launch defence satellite from PSLV-C45 rocket in Sriharikota today

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is all set to launch PSLV-C45 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at around 9:30 am today.

The rocket will put 29 satellites including indigenously-built defence satellite 'EMISAT' into the orbit. 'EMISAT' will be used to detect enemy radar sites.

The satellite is built by Indias’s Defense Research Development Organisation and will have 28 foreign satellites co-passengers.

The C-45 will be carrying satellites of the United States, Switzerland, Lithuania and Spain.

The final stage of the rocket will be used as an orbital platform, to perform experiments.

The PSLV will be launched from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.

With today's launch, Indian space research organisation is all set for a record launch.

This is the first time that the country's PSLV rocket will deliver satellites into three different orbits.

Last week India’s space-offensive was on display for peaceful purposes.

India had tested its anti-satellite weapon and shot down its own satellite in 300km low earth orbit.
