The Supreme Court is set to hear Enforcement Directorate's plea against Karti Chidambaram in the INX media money laundering case today.

In March 26 hearing, Karti's interim protection was extended from March 26 to April 2. An interim protection was given to him by the Supreme Court against an arrest by the ED.

On February 28, Karti was arrested at the Chennai airport on his return from the UK. Former Finance Minister's son was accused of his alleged role in facilitating Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) clearance for INX Media Ltd and its directors, Peter and Indrani Mukerjea.

According to reports, Karti is alleged to have taken service charges for getting the clearance to INX Media for receiving funds from abroad worth Rs 305 crore in 2007 during his father P Chidambaram's tenure as the Union finance minister in the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government.
