Story highlights

Earlier, the Delhi court had rejected the regular bail petition of Chidambaram in the INX media case.

Congress leader P Chidambaram on Tuesday moved an application in a Delhi court seeking home-cooked food in Tihar jail.

At present, Chidamabaram is in judicial custody in Tihar Jail. The court will hear the plea on October 3.

Earlier, the Delhi court had rejected the regular bail petition of Chidambaram in the INX media case.

In a reply filed on the Chidambaram' petition, the CBI said that granting bail in "such cases will set a wrong precedent" in the corruption cases.

Chidambaram was arrested by the CBI on August 21.

He is facing a probe by the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for alleged irregularities in granting the clearance to INX Media to the tune of Rs 305 crore in 2007.
