International shooter Vartika Singh on Saturday offered to execute the convicts in the Nirbhaya rape case as she believes that it would send a ''strong message''.

Singh has written a letter in blood to Union Home Minister Amit Shah stating that the four men convicted in Nirbhaya gang-rape case should be executed by a woman, reported news agency ANI.

''Hanging of the Nirbhaya case convicts should be done by me. This will send a message throughout the country that a woman can also conduct execution,'' Vartika Singh was quoted as saying.

''I want the women actors, MPs to support me. I hope this will bring change in society,'' she further said.

Meanwhile, Nirbhaya's mother on Thursday said that she has appealed to the Supreme Court and Central government to execute the convicts immediately.

"It has been two and a half years since the Supreme Court passed the order on their conviction and 18 months since their review petitions were dismissed. I have appealed to the court and government to hang them immediately," Asha Devi told.

Her comments came in the backdrop of the Supreme Court decision to hear the review petition of one of the convicts Akshay Kumar Singh in the 2012 gang rape case on December 17.
