Paying their tributes to Indian soldiers who were killed in a violent face-off with Chinese troops in eastern Ladakh, the US Embassy on Friday said that the bravery of military personnel would not be forgotten.
"The US Mission in India sends our heartfelt condolences to the families of the soldiers who were lost at Galwan. Their bravery and courage will not be forgotten," US Ambassador to India Kenneth Juster said in a tweet.

As many as 20 members of the Indian Army were killed in the Galwan Valley late on Monday, the biggest military confrontation in more than five decades, which escalated the tensions between both the countries.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, superior military officers of both the countries held a dialogue for the third consecutive day on the disegngagement of troops as well as restoring normalcy in the region part of the dispute.
The incident in Galwan Valley is the biggest face-off between both the two countries after the 1967 clashes in Nathu La when India lost nearly 80 soldiers while over 300 troops of China were killed.
The border situation between both the countries deteriorated in the beginning of May when nearly 250 Chinese and Indian soldiers were engaged in a violent face-off on the banks of Pangong Tso in Ladakh. A similar clash followed in north Sikkim on May 9.
