Vietnam appreciates "enormity and scale of action taken in India to enforce social distancing through the lockdown to contain the spread of novel coronavirus," says Indian envoy to Vietnam Pranay Verma.

In an exclusive conversation from Hanoi with WION's diplomatic correspondent Sidhant Sibal, he said both India and Vietnam have shared best practices on dealing with the crisis.

Verma further said that no Indian COVID-19 case in Vietnam even as the mission reaches out to stranded Indians. 

Most of the stranded Indians in the country are tourist, business travellers, short term visitors, he said.

India engagement on pharmaceuticals with Vietnam continued during the COVID-19 pandemic, he said and added, both India and Vietnam have witnessed among the lowest per capita incidents of infections.
