India, United States joint military exercise to end tomorrow

The third edition of joint military drills  -- Cope India 2018 -- between India and the US Air forces will come to an end tomorrow at the Kalaikunda Air Force Station.
 
Unlike previous editions, the third edition of the exercise has evolved to incorporate expert exchanges, perform air defence and air combat and attack drills in addition to fighter-training exercises.

 As many as 200 US airmen with 14 aircraft from the 18th wing, Kadena air base in Japan and the 182nd airlift wing of the Illinois air national guard participated in the exercise. 

The US Fighter jet fleet comprised of the F-15s and C-130h aircraft.

On the Indian side, as many as 10 SU-30 MKIS, six Jaguars and five Mirage 2000s, one AWACS and C-130J Super Hercules participated in the exercises at Kalaikunda and Panagarh in West Bengal.

December 13 will be the final day of the exercise.
