India slams China for calling formation of J&K and Ladakh Union Territories 'unlawful, void'

The Indian govt has slammed china for calling the formation on Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh Union Territories as unlawful and void.
The foreign ministry of India has asked China to respect the sovereignty of India the same way India does.
The spokesperson of external affairs ministry also said that India does not expect china or other countries to comment on the matters that are internal to India.
Addressing the media, MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said, "We expect other countries to respect India's sovereignty&territorial integrity. China continues to be in occupation of a large tract of the area in UTs of J-K,& Ladakh. It has illegally acquired Indian territories from PoK under so-called China-Pakistan boundary agreement of 1963".
Nearly three months after the Indian government scrapped article 370.

The two new union territories have come into existence from midnight. On the 144th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh-Bhai Patel. The decision to revoke the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was announced on August 5.
Jammu and Kashmir has also got its first Lieutenant-Governor Girish Chandra Murmu.
He is a 1985 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre and was principal secretary of Narendra Modi during his tenure as the chief minister of the state.
Former defence secretary Radha Krishna Mathur has taken charge as the lieutenant governor of Ladakh.
With the bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir, the number of states in India has come down to 28 and the number of Union Territories has gone up to nine.
While Jammu and Kashmir will continue to have a legislation like Puducherry. Ladakh will be without legislative assembly just like Chandigarh.
The centre will be in direct control of the police and law and order in J&K. While the land will be under the elected government there. Ladakh will be under the direct control of the central government which will be run through the Lieutenant Governor.
