India reports 380 deaths in 24 hours; total toll rises to 9,900

India's health ministry said today that 380 coronavirus linked deaths were reported in the last 24 hours with 10,667 new cases. 

The total number of coronavirus cases has shot up to 3,43,091 in the country with the total death toll rising to 9,900.

The ministry informed that there are 1,53,178 active cases with 1,80,013 people discharged from the hospital after being treated for the virus.

Meanwhile, Assam reported 151 new cases with the total number of cases rising to 4,309. 

In Telangana, 219 coronavirus cases were reported in the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases in the state to 5,193.

Jharkhand reported 30 new coronavirus cases taking the total number of cases in the state to 1,793 including 784 active cases.

Madhya Pradesh health department reported 133 new coronavirus cases taking the number of cases to over 10,900.

Amid the pandemic, officials said the Kanha National Park tiger reserve opened after being shut in March due to the coronavirus outbreak.

On the first day of its reopening on Monday, 76 tourists visited the park in 19 vehicles with authorities setting up thermal screening and masks for visitors including social distancing measures.
