In a one-of-a-kind incident, a train bound for New Delhi Railway Station arrived at the Old Delhi station on Tuesday.
According to reports, the railway log operator made the diversion by mistake.
The railway officer in question, Alam, was immediately suspended. Alam claimed that he got confused with the numbers of the two passenger trains -- Panipat-New Delhi and Sonepat-Old Delhi.
A northern railway spokesperson noted that the similarities between the arrival time of both the trains must have the got the log operator confused.
