In Australia, President Kovind says investors should borrow from methods of cricketers

India's President Ram Nath Kovind on Thursday asked the Australian business persons should borrow from the methods of cricketers in order to increase the bilateral ties between the two countries. 

Kovind, who is on a four-day tour to Australia, was addressing at The Australian Financial Review's India Business Summit and stressed how the two countries have been united because of cricket and urged the investors to make the sport a metaphor for business also.  

"Australia & India are united by shared passion for cricket," said President Kovind 

"They say cricket is a metaphor for life. I believe it's also a metaphor for business. Australian business-persons and investors looking to India should borrow from the methods of cricketers," he added. 

In his speech, the president assured business investors of a profit if they are ready to settle down for a long inning, stressing 'the pitch is ready'.

"The most successful Australian batsmen in India have been those who have shown patience, read the conditions carefully, settled down for long innings, nurtured dependable partnerships – & not fallen for spin. Come to India. The pitch is ready!"

Earlier in the day, President Kovind unveiled a bronze statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Sydney and said his powerful message of non-violence and peaceful coexistence is relevant in these times of strife.
