A group of people on Tuesday set ablaze the house of a slain PDP worker in Kashmir, a day after one of the Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists who shot the sarpanch (headman) dead was killed in the scuffle following the killing.

A group of people set on fire the house of PDP Worker Mohammad Ramzan Sheikh in restive Shopian district's Chak Houmona. His family has been rescued by the police.

The two storied house was completely gutted in the fire.

Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti condemned the killing and the burning of his house.

"Condemn the killing of ex-sarpanch Mohd Ramazan and the burning of his house. Such dastardly acts can't justify or achieve any political goals," Mehbooba Mufti told ANI.

The PDP worker was killed by three alleged terrorists of the Hizbul Mujahideen late last evening. One of the terrorists of the Pakistan-based terrorist outfit, Showka Ahmad Kumar, was
killed in the scuffle that followed after some people resisted the attempt of the terrorists.

Showka Ahmad Kumar was a resident of Trenj in Shopian.

The three terrorists had fired on the PDP worker, son of Abdul Razzaq and a resident of Chak Houmona, late last evening.

He died on the spot.

After the burial of the terrorist, a group of people reached Chak Houmona and set on fire the house of the slain PDP worker on fire.
