Holi fashion ideas to steal from celebs

The festival of colours is here and with it the need to look your best for that Holi party today. You obviously can’t make the mistake of repeating your clothes as the previous years’ or sticking to the good old white overalls, as it’s oh-so-boring.

As we look towards Bollywood, our Hindi film industry for Holi inspiration like in case of music, food or décor -- it’s high time we steal ideas from our celebs to look our glamorous best for the much-awaited Holi party this year.

Without much further ado, here are the best fashion statements to pull off today:

Shorts and shirt: Carry Deepika Padukone’s style from Balam Pichkari with just a pair of comfy shorts and loose cotton shirt. Let your hair open or tie them in a topknot bun (after you have oiled them) for that carefree look. The shorts could even come from your nightwear collection so that you wouldn’t mind sleeping in stained shorts at home.

Loose pants and crop top: Groove like the easy breezy queen Alia Bhatt from Badri Ki Dulhania in loose pants and matching crop top/not. She wore shimmery pants in the song but let’s face it, it will be hot in the afternoon when everyone will be playing and you don’t want all that sequins adding weight to your clothes after getting wet.

Churidar suit: No one quite does Holi like the ‘desi girl’ Priyanka Chopra from Do Me A Favour Let’s Play Holi where she dons a tight-fitted churidar-kurta complete with a matching dupatta. The best part about this is you can literally pick any old Indian dress, tie your hair in a French braid, some jhumkis and you are ready to surprise everyone with that desi glam.

Salwar kameez: You could also carry Indian like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan from Chhan Ke Mohalla pairing the kurta with a salwar considering it’s going to be hot in the daytime. With this, you can also let your hair open or tie them in a low bun.
