Haryana Assembly on Thursday passed a bill advocating capital punishment for rape of children of 12-years of age and below.

Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan have already cleared a bill with similar provisions.

The Madhya Pradesh Assembly unanimously passed a Bill awarding death to those found guilty of raping girls aged 12 and below in December 2017 while Rajasthan passed the similar bill on March 9.

Maharashtra and Karnataka are also considering the death penalty for child rapists.
