National Commission for Women Chairperson Rekha Sharma blasted Haryana Police after reports of a series of rape cases emerged from state and said the policemen in Haryana don't know "how to behave with women".

Sharma said she met the state police chief and asked him to send a report on the rape cases to her within 48 hours. She received the reports, but the NCW Chairperson said she is not satisfied.

Sharma further added that she is concerned about the behaviour of the policemen as she is receiving a lot of complaints and they will now be doing sensitisation of Haryana police.

Meanwhile, amid the row of rapes cases happening in Haryana, a senior police officer in Haryana stoked controversy through his comment that such incidents are "taking place since forever".

"It's part of society. Such incidents have been taking place since forever. Role of police is to probe, nab criminal and prove things. We're leaving no stone unturned to do that. We must work to stop such incidents from recurring," Additional Director General of Police RC Mishra was quoted as saying by news agency ANI on Wednesday.

Five cases of rape have been reported in the last five days from different parts of Haryana. A three-year-old daughter of a labourer was abducted and raped by a 14-year-old boy, her neighbour, on Tuesday in Hisar. The girl's private parts were found to be mutilated, the police said.

The accused was arrested by the police.

Last week, a 15-year-old was raped and murdered in Kurushetra and her body was later found mutilated, 100 km away in Jind.

An 11-year-old was also gang-raped in Panipat. According to the police, she was strangled to death and raped again after she died.
