'Gujarat's mood is country's mood': Who said what on Gujarat elections results

The BJP today appeared to be on its way to retain power in Gujarat, with trends from 175 out of 182 Assembly seats giving it a lead in 100 seats while the Congress was following with 70.

Here are some of the reactions on BJP's performance in Gujarat assembly elections:

Muralidhar Rao (BJP): "In Gujarat winning again after 22 years is real achievement. We will form the government with full majority. This is  Modi ji record of forming government since 22 years in Gujarat."

Sanjay Raut (Shiv Sena): "I would like to congratulate BJP, Rahul Gandhi and Hardik Patel. In this fight, Congress has given a tough competition and Hardik Patel has also given competition and they are also standing in front of a crest which was there of the BJP. BJP will form govt in Gujarat, that is the picture of the trends. One thing is clear the Gujarat that showed a way of victory for BJP in the country, now that Gujarat's mood is country's mood."

Rajnath Singh (Home Minister): "BJP will form government in both Himachal and Gujarat with clear majority. The result is as per our expectations. BJP is leading in both the states. BJP will form a government with clear majority in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh."

Ashok Gehlot (Congress): "These are early trends. It is difficult to say till all rounds of voting is not completed. Congress talked about issues but BJP did zero. BJP has only provoked emotions."

Nitinbhai Patel (BJP): "Ultimately BJP is going to register victory, contrary to early trends BJP is leading almost everywhere now."

Ashok Gehlot (Congress): "The way the Congress campaigned and the way Rahul Gandhi did bus trips, we put up a very nice campaign. Whatever the results, the country will see this as the Congress' victory."
