The Upper House of Parliament on Wednesday was adjourned till noon without any proceedings owing to disruptions over the NRC issues. 

Senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel on Wednesday took to Twitter criticising central government's National Register of Citizens (NRC) move, calling it an attempt to "polarise" India.

"Not guts but greed for power, driving them to polarise India over NRC," Patel tweeted. 

Patel further added that former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi "championed Assam and Punjab accords". 

"Earlier INC sacrificed its government in J&K for peace. Legacy of Congress is to keep nation before party," read his tweet. 

The Upper House of Parliament on Wednesday was adjourned till noon without any proceedings owing to disruptions over the NRC issues.

Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu asked Amit Shah to conclude his statement from Tuesday on the NRC and later adjourned the House till noon.

"I was very upset yesterday when some members ran menacingly towards the well of the House, I hope it will not be repeated. I don't want to name anybody, the House should function smoothly," Naidu noted.
