<p>The government has decided to review the apex court's ruling on the SC/ST Act.</p>

<p>The government will be filing a review petition&nbsp;against the Supreme Court's ruling on the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.</p>

<p>Media reports said that the law&nbsp;ministry may approach the apex court soon after discussing the case with the Ministry of Social Justice.</p>

<p>The Supreme Court had on March 20,&nbsp;banned immediate and automatic arrest under the SC/ST Act citing"several occasions"&nbsp; where innocent citizens were being termed as accused and public servants were hindered from performing their duties under the prevailing Act.</p>
