News reports Monday said a 16-year-old French girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by the father of a Delhi student she was staying with. The reports said the French girl was here on a student exchange programme.
The assault is alleged to have taken place on October 18.
Delhi Police have said they have registered a case under section 354 of the IPC (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act.
Delhi: According to Joint CP South Eastern Range, a case has been registered under section 354 IPC & POCSO Act, in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 16-year-old French national who had come to Delhi as a part of a student exchange program

The reports quoted the girl as saying, in her complaint, that she was packing for a trip when the father walked into her room. He then touched her inappropriately.
The girl, in her complaint, said she continued packing hoping he would leave the room. But he did not.
The alleged assault took place after that.
The girl told fellow students and teachers about the assault the following day, after which a French teacher informed the embassy and the girl's parents.
