Watch 'Laila Majnu' teaser: Imtiaz Ali and Ekta Kapoor retell the legendary love story
Follow UsEkta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures released the teaser of her upcoming film, Laila Majnu with filmmaker Imtiaz Ali coinciding with the date of release of another film Veere Di Wedding today on June 1.
The first poster of the film released yesterday as Imtiaz took to his Instagram page to tease his fans with a new take on the legendary love story.
The teaser revealed shows a couple madly in love, ready to forego everything -- just to have one another in their lives. It is said to be a modern-day re-telling of the classic love story of Laila Majnu -- that has given served as fodder for many romantic tales.
In the teaser, they also announce the release date of the film -- August 24, 2018. The film will be directed by Sajid Ali with Imtiaz and Ekta bankrolling the project. The cast of the film is yet to be unveiled.

In a press statement, Imtiaz said, “Laila Majnu is an eternal story of everlasting love. It’s perhaps the most popular love story of all times. For the film, we wanted a fresh approach in all aspects -- a fresh cast, a fresh script and a fresh setting. We had a great experience making the film and can’t wait to showcase it to the world.”
