Sridevi cremated with state honours as Boney Kapoor performs last rites

Veteran Bollywood actress Sridevi was laid to rest today evening as husband Boney Kapoor performed last rites at Vile Parle Crematorium amid a sea of mourners who rounded up at the entrance of the venue.

Bollywood stars Jeetendra and filmakers Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra were spotted leaving after her cremation :

Bollywood celebs arrived at the crematorium to witness Srivdei's last rites: 

The late actress has been given full state honours as her mortal remains are wrapped in tricolour amid the presence of family, relatives and colleagues from Bollywood.

Sridevi's mortal remains were carried to Celebration Sports Club earlier in the morning today for fans and Bollywood colleagues to pay their respects. She was shifted from her residence earlier in the morning to Sports Club at Lokhandwala, Mumbai. The body was kept till 2 pm for people to pay their last respects. 

Sridevi's family released a statement today that read, "Khushi, Janhvi, Boney Kapoor and the entire Kapoor and Ayyappan families are deeply bereaved and shocked with the untimely loss of Sridevi Kapoor. Late Sridevi Kapoor passed away in Dubai, UAE, on Saturday, February 24th. We thank the film fraternity, media, fans of late Sridevi Kapoor and all the well-wishers for their prayers, support and sensitivity during our moment of immense grief. We request you to kindly join us in paying our last respect to a remarkable actor, beloved wife and loving mother."
