'Sanju' new poster: Does Sonam Kapoor portray Madhuri Dixit's role in Ranbir Kapoor's 'Sanju'?

The first thing that will pop in your head once you see the newly released poster of Sanjay Dutt biopic Sanju starring Ranbir Kapoor in the titular character -- whether Sonam Kapoor is playing the role of Sanjay’s former lover Madhuri Dixit. 

Bringing Saawariya vibes, Sonam and Ranbir are charming, fun and intrigue us as they pose playfully together for the new poster that came out today. If not Madhuri, some even feel that she plays another former lover of Sanjay, actress Tina Munim who is now married to Anil Ambani. 

However, quashing all these rumours, Sonam spoke about her short but important role in the film. She said, “I have a small but important part in the movie. It’s not what everyone is thinking. I am not playing an actress. I am not allowed to say anything about it. But it has been wonderful working with Rajkumar Hirani. He is one of the biggest reasons why I said yes to this film.”

In the poster, both Sonam and Ranbir sport the late 80s and early 90s vibe as they dress for that decade. 

Sharing the look, director Rajkumar Hirani wrote: “A page from #Sanju’s crazy romantic love life! Watch the #SanjuTrailer on 30th May. #RanbirKapoor @RajkumarHirani #RajkumarHiraniFilms @VVCFilms @foxstarhindi.”

With this film, we will see Sonam and Ranbir together on the screen after a gap of 11 years. Interestingly, the two debuted together with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Saawariya. Meanwhile, Sanju’s trailer is expected to be out on May 30.
