WION exclusive: Priya Prakash Varrier says she wants to work with Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh

Priya Prakash Varrier may be the country's sweetheart currently, but the 18-year-old actress says the fame that has come her way is overwhelming. 

In an interview with WION, Priya spoke about being nation's current obsession, her debut film, her co-stars and her desire to work in Bollywood.

The actress became an overnight sensation soon after a clip of her's from the film Oru Adaar Love went viral. The first year BCom (Hons) student had the entire nation swooning as she winked and raised her eyebrows at her co-star Roshan Abdul Rahoof in the song Manikya Malaraya Poovi from the film.

“Life has changed overnight for me,” said the actress and added, “I am still unsure of how to handle the fame.”

While her friends and family are happy about her new found fame, Priya stated that her parents do not want her to discontinue her education just yet.

So, how was the iconic moment created on screen? Was she asked by the director, Omar Lulu, to wink at her co-star? “He asked me to do something cute and basically improvise. The wink was not pre-decided.”
The young actress is aware that the expectations have gone up for the film and admits she is a bit tense about it. 

Calling herself a Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh fan, Priya said she would not mind working in a Bollywood film. "Why not? If the offer is good I'd love to.”And which actors would be on her wishlist, we asked. “Ranveer Singh, SRK, and Sidharth Malhotra,”Priya answered shyly. 

Calling her co-star, the 19-year-old Roshan Abdul Rahoof, 'supportive and understanding', Priya thanked her fans for the love and support that they have given her and her debut film. 

While she is currently the entire country’s crush, Priya stated that she did not have anyone special in her life. “I study in a girls college, so there are no possibilities of an high-school romance. I have had lots of crushes, but nothing serious,” revealed Priya. 

How would she describe her ideal man? “He should be chivalrous. Open doors, pull the chair for me.”And what would be a perfect date for her? “It has to be candlelight dinner for sure," said the actress.
