'Laila Majnu': Imtiaz Ali, Ekta Kapoor to make film on classic romance, see poster inside

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali and producer Ekta Kapoor came together on Valentine's Day to announce a joint venture -- recreating the classic, romantic tale of Laila Majnu. 

Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures shared an image of both the makers on Twitter and captioned it: "The epic love story is back! From the house of dream storytellers! @ektaravikapoor and Imtiaz Ali are teaming up for a modern retelling of #LailaMajnu #ImtiazAlisLailaMajnu releases on 4th May."

The yet-to-be-titled film will follow the epic tale of Laila Manju and is slated for a release on May 4. 

Ekta too shared the news on Twitter and wrote, "Excited to recreate the epic love story, #LailaMajnu with master storyteller Imtiaz Ali. @balajimotionpic #ImtiazAlisLailaMajnu #LailaMajnuOn4thMay."

The makers also unveiled the first poster of the film. The caption reads: "Some love stories never die...they get retold by passionate storytellers. Presenting the teaser poster of @ektaravikapoor and #ImtiazAlisLailaMajnu."

This will mark the first collaboration between Imtiaz Ali and Ekta Kapoor.
