Ekta Kapoor planning Sourav Ganguly biopic on book co-authored by him

Cricketers in India and their stories of struggle and success often serve as a great plot for filmmakers, see the most recent examples being that of MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar. While films on the big screen are great, the new-age medium of entertainment that is, the subscription-based video-on-demand channels are the new game changer. 

Ekta Kapoor’s Alt Balaji, under Balaji Telefilms Limited, is reportedly in talks to produce a biopic based on Sourav Ganguly, one of India’s finest captains and cricketer as a whole. 

According to a report published in a leading daily, the film will be based on the book ‘A Century is not Enough’, co-authored by Ganguly. The report said that Ganguly had recently confirmed talks with Balaji but added that nothing was finalised as of yet. 

Reportedly, Ganguly was quoted: “I have had a few discussions with Balaji, though nothing is final yet. I’ll have more details once we take this forward.”

Ganguly's book ‘A Century is not Enough’ details the pivotal moments in the cricketer's long career and chronicles his journey in the world of cricket.
