Deepika Padukone was a vision to behold as she walked the red carpet on Tuesday night in New York for Time's 100 Gala. The actress, who is one of the few Indians to have featured in Time's 100 Influential People List in 2018, wore an Anamika Khanna designed saree in ivory and looked nothing short of royalty.

Deepika kept her hair simple as she tied it in a ponytail, wore heavy earrings and deep maroon lipstick to complete her look.

One of the highest paid actresses in the world, Deepika is the only heroine to have her film earn Rs 300 crores at the Box Office, Her last outing on the big screen, Padmaavat, shattered Box Office Records and earned her critical acclaim as well.

At the gala, which was attended by celebrities from across the world, Deepika also spoke about the importance of mental health. Deepika herself has undergone depression and through her foundation, The Live Love Laugh Foundation (TLLF) creates awareness around mental health.

The actress, who recently made her foray into Hollywood with xXx, had her co-star Vin Diesel writing a warm piece for her in TIME magazine.

Deepika also addressed the widely discussed issue of pay disparity in films. " You can feel a sense of — am I stepping over the line, do I deserve it? But if you believe you deserve it, then you do. For years, we’ve been made to feel we should be OK with settling for less, with sometimes a promise of getting something more later on. But I think you should get what you think you deserve. It’s OK to fight for it, and it’s OK to feel uncomfortable initially because that’s just the way we’ve been made to feel for so long," the actress said.

Celebrity author-chef and former model Padma Lakshmi shared a selfie with Deepika from the event.
