The current surge in petrol prices across the country has drawn the ruling government a lot of flak. Interestingly, celebrities who are known to be vocal about trending topics on their social media platforms have not reacted the increase in petrol prices.

Akshay Kumar, who has off late been picking up films that talk about real issues, has also kept mum on the rise in petrol prices. The actor, in a bid to balance it out perhaps, has gone ahead and deleted his tweets from 2012. The actor, back then, criticising the UPA government, had tweeted condemning the increase in price rise.

The tweet that the actor deleted read, "Guys, I think it’s time to clean up your bicycles and hit the road! As per sources, expecting another petrol price hike."

But Akshay kept the other tweets that he had tweeted around the same time about the same issue.

A Twitter user pointed out that not just Akshay Kumar but even celebrities like Vivek Agnihotri, Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher had criticised the then ruling government for the increase in petrol prices.

Interestingly, these said stars have not reacted to the current rise in petrol prices. In fact, barring a few actors, most have kept mum on the recent hike. Actor Farhan Akhtar did tweet about the hike as he wrote:
