As Madhuri steps in for Sridevi's film with Sanjay Dutt, Karan Johar clarifies not called 'Shiddat'
Late actress Sridevi's eldest daughter, Janhvi Kapoor took to Instagram yesterday announcing that Madhuri Dixit will step into the shoes of Sridevi in next Abhishek Varman's film titled "Shiddat".
However today, Karan tweeted clarifications around the name of the film and wrote: “Some clarifications!!! Yes...we are honoured and humbled to have @MadhuriDixit on board for @abhivarman ‘s next! NO the film is NOT titled SHIDHAT! Yes the film will Commence shoot in mid-April! The films final cast and credits will be announced soon!”

This is what Janhvi had posted: “Abhishek Varman’s next film was very close to mom’s heart ...Dad, Khushi and I are thankful to Madhuriji for now being a part of this beautiful film...”
Sridevi was reportedly supposed to work with Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Aditya Roy Kapur in the film. It would have allowed bringing Sridevi and Sanjay Dutt, Gumraah co-stars together after almost 25 years. She, however, passed away last month in Dubai due to “accidental drowning" in a bathtub in her hotel room.
