The versatile actress Rani Mukerji is back with a movie that is packed with a social message and it's her character in the film that we are already in love with.

The film first made news when the title of the movie was announced -- Hichki or simply translated into English as a hiccup. In the film's context, it has been shown that the lead character or Rani has a speech impairment.

Suffering from Tourette syndrome that hampers her speech, Rani is seen portraying the role of a school teacher who is given charge of disciplining the naughty kids from impoverished backgrounds.

But coming back to the origin of the title, it has now been revealed that the name was suggested by Rani's husband or producer of the film Aditya Chopra.

Speaking about it, the director of the film, Siddharth P Malhotra spoke about how they decided on the title Hichki and stated, "It was quite a task to figure out the perfect title for the movie. It needed to be sensitive, thought-provoking, intriguing as well as have a direct connection to the theme of the film."

Siddharth further said, "It was Adi who nailed the title of the film. He took a few days to deliberate on the same and when he told Maneesh (Sharma) and me his suggestion, we were ecstatic. Nothing could have described the film better than Hichki. It’s uncomplicated, it’s a strong metaphor for discrimination and it’s an extremely colloquial and relatable word."

Hichki is slated to release on February 23, 2018.
